The November Sunday morning waits as the sun sleeps in, making the perfect backdrop for the flicker of candlelight. Coffee tastes best in November.

The neighborhood sleeps in while the November Sunday enthusiasts are out in time to watch the sun wake. The air has chilled considerably and smoke billows out from old brick chimneys once again, inspiring creative and grateful thoughts. This November Sunday invites a slow, contemplative enjoyment of the bright colors still covering the trees, and now the sidewalks.

The extra hour gained as daylight savings time comes to an end begs for bread baking upon returning from a crisp walk and before heading out to church. Seasonal scents fill the house, prompting sweet memories of autumns past.

At church you’re greeted nearly a dozen times before finding your seat and you marvel at the love that resides there. The pastor reminds the church that God is in control. We need not fear the results of the coming election – God is in control.

Will we trust Him? Would we wake each day and surrender all to Him, loving Him and others with His enduring love wherever and however He leads?

Goodbye, November Sunday. Will there be another like you? There is no guarantee, but I’ll remember your gift.

They will have no fear of bad news, their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Psalm 112:7

I would love to hear from you.
