Always Look Up

I receive the monthly Voice of the Martyrs publication. Reading the accounts of the persecution and heavy trials our brothers and sisters endure around the world because of their faith in Jesus touches my heart in a profound way. So many times I wish to share their stories with others so that we can all be reminded together to pray for and support the persecuted church.

I will share a small word written by one of the pastors to his wife during his imprisonment which happened under false accusations. Pastor Yang Hua in China writes to his wife, “Never be dejected and despondent; always look up at our Lord, and always keep the spiritual life above the chaos…Rest in God’s arms…”

This convicted me this morning in a beautiful way. Perspective that is eternal can set us free from the things that ensnare us. Let’s keep our eyes on Jesus and remember that God is Sovereign over all.

We have hope in this life because of the life that is to come. Let’s go and share that hope with the lost souls who have no true hope.

For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. Romans 8:24, 25

  1. This is an encouraging word from the Lord. This was a good reminder that we need to keep our eyes on Him, and not our circumstances. It’s so true that what we see is temporary and what we do not see is eternal. I was praying this morning and that was one of the truths that came to mind. Then I read this new blog. Thank you, Debi.

I would love to hear from you.
