Glorious Nevada

I can say that I am continually grateful for the gorgeous backdrop the Nevada countryside provides for a perfect hike.

My long time friend, Lori, and I met early on this summer morning to set out on a hike in our beautiful state.  Some may not realize just how breathtakingly beautiful Nevada is. It’s as serene as it is beautiful.  There are countless trails of every kind in Nevada.  Each uniquely awe inspiring.  If you’re up for some deep and encouraging discussions with a dear friend, there is no better place to meet for such an occasion.

We chose the Fay Luther trail area that is located on the back road between Genoa, NV and Gardnerville, NV.  Our day was clear and the temperature was perfect.  Both of us love to hike and to smell the fresh scents that are so prevalent in nature.  There is something so healing and nurturing about soaking in the beauty with the senses God has given to us.

There are some people who when you meet with them you know for sure you will be talking about God.  Lori is one of those friends.  I love this about her.  She has deep faith and when I have spent time with her I feel strengthened in my own faith as her love for God just pours out.

Friends and hikes and Nevada go great together!

God’s goodness is boundless, and the enormity of nature that He has provided for our enjoyment is something that points to Him as Creator of all.  I just can’t help but to praise Him and to think of Him when I am in the midst of His creation.

It amazes me how Nevada can be so uniquely beautiful in each season.  It looks completely different from one to the next, yet there is a specific and sharp beauty that tells yet another story of God’s creativity.  There is always something new around the bend to discover and explore.  I love my glorious Nevada.

The Lord’s works are great, studied by all who delight in them.  All that He does is splendid and majestic; His righteousness endures forever.  Psalm 111:2,3

Thank You

DSC_3719It’s time for me to update my blog bio and picture. You can check out the updates at the end of this post. I published my first blog post a year ago this month! What a full year it has been (has it really been a year?)! I have loved, loved, loved pouring into this blog. It has given me a platform to write – something I love to do but didn’t have a place for it before. There have been lessons I’ve learned and things that I’ve had in my heart (some things precious to me) and I have been able to share them through this blog. I am enamored with photographs and I’m thrilled to engage in amateur photography and to weave some of my pictures through the posts for added weight and beauty. And, thanks to my husband’s prompting I will be sharing some of my songs with you too.

It was my initial plan to only write encouraging posts and stories, but I have learned that levity is fun and people are encouraged by little stories, tips, and humor as well as the deeper things. So in addition to the deeper heartfelt posts I will also continue to post the occasional house and garden interest and write about fun trips and outings.

You have all been the most lovely and gracious followers of my blog. Be free to share and invite others as you think they might enjoy the blog and be encouraged by it.

Thank you for listening, commenting, supporting me, and making this something worthwhile.
